Servicing Your Motorhome: Why It’s Essential
Just like any road vehicle, your motorhome requires regular servicing to ensure the safety of you, your passengers, and other road users. There are two main parts to motorhome servicing:
Mechanical Service
This includes mechanical checks on the engine, brakes, and other essential systems. Typically carried out by workshops specialising in the base vehicle brand (such as Fiat or Volkswagen), these services follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for mileage or time intervals.
Habitation Service
This annual service focuses on the living area of your motorhome, covering essential systems like water, gas, electrics, and heating. Safety checks are conducted on appliances, though full servicing of items such as the fridge is recommended, especially if they run on gas. We also recommend damp checks to ensure there are no leaks that could cause long-term damage.
